From June 20 to 24, the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the World Championship and the World Junior Koresh Championship. More than 300 athletes from 27 countries were registered for the competition. In total, 11 sets of awards were played at the championship and the world championship among boys under 18 years of age and men in weight categories from 60 kg to over 130 kg and the absolute weight category.



Preliminary fights took place at the Saba Arena sports complex in the village of Bogatye Saby, Republic of Tatarstan, and the final fights and ceremonial events took place at a specialized site in the village. Minger, Sabinsky district of Tatarstan, June 23 at 19:30.



In addition to the large number of participants, a whole cohort of honored guests also gathered at the tournament. Together with the President of the International Koresh Federation Dzhaudat Minnakhmetov, the First Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Khalil Shaikhutdinov was present at the competition; the Federal Ministry was represented by the Deputy Head of the Directorate of the Sports Training Center of the Ministry of Sports of Russia Evgeniy Pershin and guests of honor: four-time Olympic champion Vladimir Salnikov, Olympic champions Alexey Mishin and Shamil Khisamutdinov , Olympic silver medalists Denis Pimankov and Murat Gaidarov.



The tournament was also attended by the head of the Sabinsky district Rais Minnikhanov, the chairman of the All-Russian sports society "Spartak", the coach-consultant of the Russian national koresh team Andrey Slushaev, the president of the Tatarstan wrestling federation Ekzam Gubaidullin, as well as sports functionaries from different countries and heads of national federations.



Participants of the BRICS Games, who competed at the tournament in Kazan on the eve of June 21, will compete at the World Championships.



The final part of the competition featured decisive fights at the World Koresh Championship in 11 weight categories, as well as test World Championships in new disciplines: beach koresh (wrestling on a sand surface) and horseback koresh (belt wrestling on horseback). In addition, the guests of the tournament became spectators of the final of the promotional tournament in phygital koresh (wrestling in virtual and real space)



The winner of the absolute weight category of the World Koresh Championship, Ranis Gilyazetdinov, received the main prize of the competition - a car provided by Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov
