On March 18, in Baku (Azerbaijan), on the territory of the historical and ethnographic museum-reserve “Gala”, the Novruz festival was held, within the framework of which demonstration performances of Koresh belt wrestling were presented. Among the honored guests of the festival were heads of the executive branch, deputies of the Milli Majlis, district elders, war and labor veterans.
The Association of National Sports of Azerbaijan, which is engaged in the development of belt wrestling Koresh in Azerbaijan, acted as the organizer of the sports part of the Novruz festival.
Belt wrestling koresh was presented by multiple national champions and world championship medalists Ariz Huseynov and Nihad Rzayev.
Guests of the festival learned about the history of Koresh belt wrestling, studied the rules of the competition and basic technical techniques. Everyone was invited to join the training.
