Koresh Belt Wrestling in the program of the BRICS Games in Kazan

From June 11 to June 24, the international multi-sport event “BRICS Sports Games” (“BRICS Games”) will be held in the city of Kazan (Russia). Koresh belt wrestling competitions will be held as part of the Games. On the competition days from June 19 to 23, Koresh wrestlers will compete at the Ak Bars Martial Arts Palace. Wrestling will be in 10 weight categories.

The BRICS Games are annual competitions between the BRICS countries. The main goal of the tournament is to strengthen friendly sports ties between countries based on the principles of equality, non-discrimination and equal access of athletes to competitions.

The Games program will include 29 popular sports in the BRICS countries, and a total of 389 sets of medals will be awarded. During the competition, 18 sports facilities will be used. The BRICS Games will be held in an open format. About five thousand participants from 75 countries are expected. Cultural and excursion programs will be organized for competition participants.

The Games program included koresh, boxing, breaking, beach volleyball, beach handball, kayaking and canoeing, rowing, judo, karate, belt wrestling, athletics, table tennis, swimming, diving, sambo, synchronized swimming, skateboarding, wrestling, artistic gymnastics, tennis, wushu, fencing, basketball combined, football combined, rhythmic gymnastics, chess, weightlifting, badminton, equestrianism and acrobatic rock and roll.
