A Series of International Koresh Tournaments Begins in Uzbekistan

A delegation of the Koresh Federation has arrived in Tashkent to organize a series of major sporting events. The delegation is headed by Chairman of the Board of the International Koresh Federation Ravil Nogumanov and Federation consultant coach, chairman of the Spartak Sports Society, Andrey Slushaev.

On the eve of the competitions, a meeting was held with Olympic wrestling champion and longtime friend of the Koresh Federation, Shamil Khisamatdinov, who plans to attend the upcoming tournaments.

The competition schedule includes:

  • May 28–29 — Friendship Cup tournament in Namangan
  • May 29–30 — Preliminary bouts of the international tournament at the Chirchik Olympic Reserve School
  • May 31 — Final matches and the official ceremony during the largest Sabantuy festival in Tashkent

The events are aimed at developing and promoting koresh belt wrestling, strengthening sporting ties between countries, and advancing ethnosport.

As part of the tournament, participants will not only demonstrate their skills, but also exchange experience with leading wrestling specialists. Special attention will be given to the development of young athletes and the preservation of national wrestling traditions.
