On July 5, Moscow hosted the final fights and ceremonial events of the Koresh and Kyrgyz Kurosh World Cup, the key sporting event of the Moscow Sabantuy.
The tournament brought together about 150 athletes from 17 countries who competed in two types of wrestling: for 11 sets of awards in Koresh and 6 sets of awards in Kyrgyz Kurosh. Traditionally, more than 250 thousand guests of one of the largest folk festivals in Russia watched the competitions throughout the day.
The following took part in the ceremonial events:
• Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin,
• Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexey Shaposhnikov,
• Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation Ravil Akhmetshin,
• Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev,
• Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev,
• Chairman of the World Cup Organizing Committee Ravil Nogumanov,
• Chairman of the Tatar Autonomy of the City of Moscow Farit Farisov,
• Chairman of the Spartak RFSO Andrey Slushaev.
Particular attention was drawn to the fights for the title of absolute winner of the World Cup in Koresh. In the middle absolute category, the guests of the tournament witnessed a unique fight, where the silver medalist of the Olympic Games, world champion, honored master of sports Murad Gaidarov entered the mat against the multiple champion of Russia in Koresh, multiple world champion in Koresh Dinar Karimullin. The fight ended with the victory of the Olympic medalist, who defeated his opponent with a clean technical throw.
In the final of the absolute category among heavyweights, the fate of the main prize of the World Cup in Koresh was decided - a car from Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan. In the fight for the title of absolute winner, two Russians met and after a short struggle, Radik Salakhov won a confident victory over Mansur Yultimiro.
