From July 2 to 5, Moscow hosted the Koresh World Cup.
The preliminary bouts took place at the Moscow Secondary Specialized School of Olympic Reserve No. 1 (MSSUOR No. 1) of the Moscow Sports Department, while the finals and award ceremonies were held on July 4 as part of Moscow Sabantuy 2026 at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve.
This major event, included in the official international sports calendar, brought together more than 150 athletes from 26 countries, competing in 11 weight categories.

One of the tournament's highlights was a new competition format. For the first time, the absolute category was contested among athletes weighing up to 75 kg. This innovation allowed a greater number of competitors to compete for the tournament's top prize—a car.
Russian athlete Dinar Karimullin won the absolute category, earning the title of Absolute Champion and taking home the tournament's grand prize.
The organizers noted the high standard of the event and the strong interest shown by both participants and spectators. The final bouts, held during the Moscow Sabantuy celebrations at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve, attracted an audience of more than 250,000 visitors.
The Koresh World Cup once again confirmed its status as a major international sporting event, contributing to the development of traditional sports and strengthening international sporting cooperation.
