A Series of National Celebrations in Uzbekistan: From Fergana to Tashkent

The Tatar-Bashkir Autonomy of Fergana successfully held the traditional Sabantuy festival, which became a vibrant cultural event in the region. The main sporting attraction of the celebration was the koresh belt wrestling competitions. Guests of the festival enjoyed not only the sporting contests, but also immersed themselves in the atmosphere of national traditions by listening to folk songs, watching dances, exploring traditional crafts, and tasting national cuisine.

The organizers highlighted the strong interest of local residents in preserving and developing national traditions, emphasizing the importance of such events for strengthening intercultural dialogue.

The cultural program continues: on May 28–29, the Friendship Cup in traditional sports will take place in Namangan. The tournament will bring together the region’s best athletes and become an important milestone in the development of ethnosport.

The grand finale of the season will be a large-scale Sabantuy festival in Tashkent, expected to become the most significant event of the year. Organizers are preparing an extensive program that includes:

  • Sports competitions
  • Concert performances
  • National festivities
  • Traditional crafts master classes

All events are aimed at strengthening friendship between peoples and preserving rich cultural heritage. Organizers invite everyone to take part in the upcoming celebrations, which promise to become a true festival of sport, culture, and friendship.
