Delegation from the International Koresh Federation arrived in Uzbekistan to host international competitions
Chirchik, Uzbekistan — A delegation from the International Koresh Federation, led by Chairman of the Board Ravil Nogumanov, arrived in Uzbekistan to conduct master classes and international koresh competitions. The event is being held at the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports, the country's central sports university.
Athletes from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, as well as university students representing 17 countries, will participate in the events.
Out of over 1,000 students applying, 250 athletes were selected to participate in the master classes, of which 125 wrestlers will advance to the tournament.
On October 15, an extended training session and sports seminar was held, attended by Koresh Federation Executive Director Rishat Mubarakzyanov, multiple world champion Dinar Karimullin, University Rector Makhmudzhan Baltabaev, and Head of the University's Department of Martial Arts Theory and Methodology Nuriddin Chorshonbiev.
The Koresh Federation delegation was met by long-time partners Ravshan Dastirov, President of the Belbogli Kurash Federation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Muminhuja Muratov, President of the Asian Belbogli Kurash Confederation.
The organizers express confidence that holding the competition will be an important step in the development of traditional Koresh wrestling and strengthening international sports cooperation.
