Russian national koresh team athletes won gold and two silvers at the world kyrgyz kurosh championship in Bishkek

On August 23, the international Koresh competition was held in Bishkek, the capital of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Kyrgyz Kurosh World Championship and the first Khapsagay World Championship.

In total, more than 160 athletes from 35 countries took part in the competition. Five sets of awards were contested in the Koresh tournament in the weight categories of 65 kg, 75 kg, 90 kg and the absolute category (over 90 kg).

A delegation of the International Koresh Federation (President D.M. Minnakhmetov) arrived in Bishkek to hold the competition. It included Vice-President of the Federation Ravil Nogumanov, Executive Director of the Russian Union of Martial Arts Ramil Gabbasov, as well as international category judges and athletes of the Russian national team, who in addition to the Koresh competition also took part in the Kyrgyz Kurosh World Championship.

Russian Alexey Abramov became the World Champion in Kyrgyz Kurosh in the 66 kg weight category, and his teammates Islam Falyakhov and Renas Kalimullin won silver medals in the 72 kg and 90 kg weight categories.
