International Tournament “Friendship Cup” Held in Uzbekistan
On October 17, the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports (Chirchik) hosted the international tournament “Friendship Cup.”
Athletes from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Russia took part in the final competitions. Wrestlers competed in five weight categories: 65 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, 100 kg, and over 100 kg.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ravil Nogumanov, Chairman of the International Kurash Federation; Murodjon Abdurakhimov, Mayor of Chirchik; Mukmin Muratov, President of the Asian Confederation of National Wrestling; Ryskeldi Shamiev, President of the International Federation of Kyrgyz Kurosh; and Ravshan Dastirov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Belt Wrestling Federation.
Following intense and spirited bouts, the Russian national team claimed first place in the team standings, while the Uzbekistan team secured second place.
The tournament was held in an atmosphere of friendship and sporting brotherhood, showcasing the unity of the athletic community and respect for national wrestling traditions.
