From May 19 to 21, the Republic of Tatarstan will host international Koresh belt wrestling competitions. Ceremonial events and final fights will take place on May 19 on the territory of the Bulgarian Museum-Reserve as part of the “Izge Bolgar Zhyeny” congress.
The best Koresh wrestlers and famous athletes of other types of martial arts will take part in the final of the gala match. In total, more than 100 wrestlers from 17 countries will take part in international koresh competitions. Athletes will compete in five weight categories.
Last year, as part of the tournament in Bolgar, a meeting of the symbolic teams of Russia and Asia took place. The competition was traditionally attended by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of the Koresh Federation Dzhaudat Minnakhmetov.
The final of the gala match was attended by the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in wrestling Marid Mutalimov from Kazakhstan, the Guinness Book of Records holder Dmitry Khaladzhi from Russia (Donetsk) and the winner of the world championships in judo, sumo and wrestling Jamal Feyziev from Azerbaijan.
As a result of the fights, Jamal Feyziev, a representative of Azerbaijan, became the absolute winner, the hero. The winner was awarded the main prize of the competition - a motorcycle.
