On June 21, the Kazan martial arts palace "Ak Bars" hosted a koresh competition as part of the BRICS Games, in which more than a hundred athletes from 25 countries took part.
The honorary guests of the final competitions were Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, freelance adviser to the head of the Government of the Russian Federation on sports Oleg Matytsin, President of the International Koresh Federation Dzhaudat Minnakhmetov, as well as Akim of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan Darkhan Satybaldy and Akim of the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibaev.
In the final, 10 Russians won in all 10 weight categories over representatives of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Tajikistan.
After the completion of the competitions within the BRICS Games, the wrestlers will take part in the World Koresh Championship, the finals of which will traditionally be held on June 23 in an open area in the village of Minger, Sabinsky district.
