On 16 November 2025, preliminary competitions were held in Baku (Republic of Azerbaijan) as part of the international Koresh Belt Wrestling tournament.
An official delegation of the Koresh Belt Wrestling Federation, headed by the Chairman of the Board of the International Koresh Belt Wrestling Federation, Ravil Nogumanov, arrived in Azerbaijan to organize and conduct the event.
More than 120 athletes from Azerbaijan took part in the preliminary contests. The event served as the country’s internal championship, conducted in accordance with the regulations and with official protocols prepared.
The competition took place in two stages. The panel of judges consisted of qualified specialists from the Koresh Belt Wrestling Federation. As part of the tournament, a training and methodological seminar was held. A master class was conducted by the titled Russian Koresh Belt Wrestling athlete and international-category referee Ruslan Nurgaliev, international-category referee Ruslan Mamatov, as well as other renowned athletes.
On 17 November 2025, the final stage of the international tournament will take place. Athletes from seven countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and others, will participate in the competition.
