Tatar Koresh tournament held at Sabantuy in Tashkent

On May 25, a Tatar Koresh belt wrestling tournament was held in the Mirzo Ulugbek Culture and Recreation Park in Tashkent as part of the 1st Central Asian Sabantuy. It was organized by the delegation of the International Koresh Federation headed by the Chairman of the Board Ravil Nogumanov.

More than 60 wrestlers took part in the tournament, mainly from the Republic of Uzbekistan — representatives of the Belt Wrestling Federation of Uzbekistan (Belbogli Kurash). Wrestlers from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan also took to the mat, which gave the tournament an international status. Athletes competed in three weight categories.

The chief judge of the competition was Ruslan Mamatov (Russia). The international panel of judges also included Ismail Bikmukhametov (Russia) and Shavkat Mirzakulov (Uzbekistan).

The absolute winner of the tournament was Islam Nosirov. In accordance with tradition, he was awarded a valuable prize - a live ram.

The following took part in the ceremonial events of the tournament:
- Chairman of the Board of the International Koresh Federation, Master of Sports, Candidate of Economic Sciences Ravil Nogumanov (Russia);
- Chairman of the Tatar Cultural Center, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Rishat Nabiullin;
- Three-time participant of the Olympic Games, Asian Games Champion Ravil Nagaev;
- Advisor to the President of the International Koresh Federation, General of Justice Erkin Abzalov;
- President of the Asian Belt Wrestling Confederation Mumin Muratov;
- Chairman of the Belt Wrestling Federation of Uzbekistan Ravshan Dastirov;
- World Champion in Greco-Roman Wrestling Kamil Fatkhullin.

Particular attention was drawn to the presence of Honored Master of Sports, silver medalist of the World Judo Championship, World Sumo Champion Khabil Biktashev, who actively supported the athletes.
